KUALA LUMPUR: GWM Malaysia has started order-taking for the highly-anticipated Tank 500 hybrid luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV).
Set to redefine the upscale off-road SUV segment with its array of intelligent and premium comfort features, the seven-seater Tank 500 is estimated to be priced below RM350,000.
GWM's Tank lineup is the top Chinese off-road marque worldwide and has exceeded 600,000 units in cumulative sales and holds China’s best-selling off-road SUV title for 52 consecutive months with over 50% market share.
The Tank 500 has a length of 5,078mm, width of 1,934mm, height of 1,905mm and wheelbase of 2,850mm.
Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder hybrid turbocharged engine delivering a combined output of 255kW(346PS) and 648Nm of torque, paired to a nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission.
Its Intelligent All-terrain system offers 11 driving modes, as well as Tank Turn, and Off-road Cruise Control.
Said to be the ultimate all-terrain hybrid SUV, Tank 500 also has the intelligent 4WD with M-Lock, a "transparent" chassis and L2+ driving assist.
Inside, premium features include Nappa leather seats, an Infinity sound system, electric side steps and front seats with both massage and ventilation functions.
Safety is enhanced by an ultra-high-strength body and six airbags.
Available exterior colours are Crystal Gray, Hamilton White and Sun Black.
