Expected to be launched in the third quarter of the year, the City comes with the concept of “The Best Gets Better” and offers customers a stylish design with advanced features and a punchy powertrain.
The new City e:HEV RS is longer with a refreshed bumper design, measuring 4,589mm in length; 1,748mm in width and 1,467mm in height.
It also gets a new Honeycomb Front Grille, new Front Lower Grille, new Rear Diffuser, new Side Skirting, and a newly designed “RS” emblem.
The sporty appearance is further elevated with a new Front Bumper, new Rear Bumper and newly designed 16-inch Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels.
The City e:HEV RS uses a 1.5-litre e:HEV powertrain that combines two electric motors with an Electric Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT) to deliver a perfect fusion of power and fuel efficiency.
The e:HEV powertrain produces 109PS and 253Nm torque which is the most powerful torque in its class and equivalent to a D-segment naturally aspirated engine.
Honda SENSING driver assistance safety system also gets two additional features of Low-Speed Follow (LSF) and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN).
Other existing Honda SENSING features are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High Beam (AHB).
Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Hironobu Yoshimura said the fifth generation City which was launched in 2020 had been well-received by the market.
“That year, we also raised the bar for our best-selling model by introducing the City RS e:HEV for the first time.
“So far, more than 68,600 units of the fifth generation City have been sold since its launch, while in the first half of 2023, we have sold more than 10,000 units.
“Truly, this iconic Honda model has proven to be a favourite in its segment among Malaysians,” he said.
