Ferrari driver beat me up after fender bender, claims road rage victim

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened investigations into an alleged altercation between two motorists following an accident here.

One of the motorists, Aqil Danish Azman, took to Twitter to give his side of the incident.

According to his police report, he was driving a red Proton X70 with a female friend along Jalan Sultan Ismail at around 12.40am on April 19.

He alleged that he stopped at a traffic light along the stretch and when it turned green, a Ferrari sports car in front of him started rolling backward.

He claimed he sounded his car horn but the vehicle in front continued moving backward until it hit his car.

The report also stated that the vehicle then sped off towards Kampung Baru while he gave chase.

He said the Ferrari then got stuck in traffic there and stopped along Jalan Raja Abdullah.

The complainant said he confronted the driver of the Ferrari but he denied being involved in an accident.

The man also claimed the Ferrari driver then threatened him, grabbed his mobile phone and flung it away before strangling and punching him until he fell to the ground.

The victim also alleged that the Ferrari driver continued to assault him as he laid on the ground.

He said the man also attacked his female companion and tried to snatch her phone as she sought to take photographs of the Ferrari as evidence.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya confirmed receiving the case.

"We received an order to investigate from the deputy public prosecutor and have classified the case as voluntarily causing hurt.

"Police are in the midst of taking further action," he said, adding that details of the suspect have been obtained to assist in the probe.
