PARIS: An extraordinary SUV is sure to cause a sensation at the next Paris Motor Show.
The Sportequipe S7 is a brand-new plug-in hybrid SUV, also running on LPG, launched by the Italian group DR Automobiles. It is a relatively high-end seven-seater model, with a range of some 1,500km thanks to this triple power system.
The vehicle is, in fact, of Chinese origin, but will be distributed in Europe by the Italian manufacturer DR Automobiles, which specialises in rebadging original Chery models under its own brand and adapted to European standards.
With its new Sportequipe brand, DR Automobiles hopes, in the future, to be able to offer models that are more premium and sportier than those in its classic range, all while remaining particularly competitive on price.
The vehicle will be on display at the Paris Motor Show, which opens its doors to the public from Oct 18 to 23.
With an increasingly wide range of products, the Italian group is competing with manufacturers like Dacia, with models sold at low prices. It also allows the Chinese manufacturer Chery to enter the European market under a new name.
