By CARSIFU | 24 February 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Tesla has expanded its charging network with the latest of its DC chargers.
Four V4 Superchargers are now installed at The Gardens Mall here. The charging station also includes one 11kW AC charger or what Tesla calls "Destination Charger".
This new facility aims to serve nearby communities, particularly residents of high-rise condominiums seeking fast charging while shopping.
Equipped with longer cables for easier access, the V4 Superchargers support peak rates of up to 250kW per vehicle.
Both the Model 3 and Model Y can recharge up to 282km in just 15 minutes. The system is also designed to accommodate future updates and enhancements.
The Supercharging fee is set at RM1.13/kWh, while idle fees can reach up to RM4.00 per minute when stations are fully occupied.
Tesla Destination Chargers remain free to use for Tesla owners until further notice.
With 14 Supercharging stations (64 Superchargers) and 15 Destination Charging stations (70 chargers) in Malaysia, Tesla said it would install more.
The first V4 Superchargers were installed at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya and IOI Mall, Puchong, Selangor in May last year. Malaysia was the first country in the region to get the V4 Superchargers.
