GAC celebrates 30-millionth vehicle roll-off


GUANGZHOU: GAC has reached a milestone of rolling-off its 30 millionth vehicle after operating for 29 years in the business.

The model which is a right-hand-drive GAC M8 Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), also known as GN8 in certain markets, was handed over to Thai actor and global action star Tony Jaa as the brand's 30 millionth customer.

Jaa was handed the keys by GAC Group chairman Feng Xingya at the roll-out celebration.


In a show of appreciation towards its customers, GAC launched the '30 millionth Vehicle Roll-off - Renewed Gratitude Season' campaign where preferential offers will be rolled out across all global regions in the coming period.

Alongside the announcement, the group says three flagship global strategic models of theirs recently made a strong showing: the award winning electric AION UT, the GS7 PHEV, and the AION i60.

The compact hatchback AION UT was said to have sustained strong sales across multiple global markets while winning honors that include Thailand's 2026 Car of the Year and Mexico's Best Compact Electric Vehicle (EV).

GAC's GS7 was the company's first PHEV SUV launched overseas that has been introduced to more than 15 countries and regions across South America and Central Asia. It was also named the best-selling model in its segment in Bolivia this year.

Optimized for global markets in mind, the i60 is GAC AION's first model to offer both pure-electric and extended-range power options. The model will first officially enter production at the brand's Thailand plant in the second half of this year before gradually expanding into more overseas markets.


To date, GAC’s international business covers five major global regions across 110 countries and territories. It has built more than 746 sales and service outlets, seven overseas manufacturing plants and nine overseas auto parts warehouses.

In 2025 it exported over 130,000 vehicles which is a year-on-year increase of over 47% to rank among China’s top eight self-owned brands by export volume.

It accumulated exports exceeding 120,000 units in the first half of 2026 which is a 132% jump year-on-year. Total cumulative overseas shipments have surpassed 540,000 vehicles to date.

In the Asia-Pacific region, GAC is said to have secured the top spot in private EV sales in Hong Kong,China in April as it captured a market share exceeding 11% between January and May.

Its June sales in Thailand has also jumped 207% month-on-month while it retains the leading market share in the electric taxi segment.

In the Americas both the AION ES and AION UT ranked among Mexico’s top 10 best-selling battery EV, while GAC has remained the top-selling Chinese passenger vehicle brand in Bolivia for months on end.

Following its 30 million deliveries, GAC will continue to follow the guidance of its 'One GAC 2.0' global strategy as it pushes forward its comprehensive global expansion that covers quality, technology, service and ecosystem.

The brand aims to make one million annual overseas sales by 2030.
