GAC debuts 5 cars in Brazil


SÃO PAULO: Chinese automaker GAC recently debuted five cars in Brazil, where the group also unveiling its "Brazil Action Plan".

GAC's "Brazil Action Plan" is the first substantive implementation of its "One GAC 2.0" global strategy in Latin America.

The five cars which debuted in Brazil are the AION V, the all-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) AION Y, the all-electric SUV HYPTEC HT, the hybrid SUV GS4, and the all-electric sedan AION ES.

In a statement, GAC said its three major product lineups — GAC, AION, and HYPTEC — in Brazil addresses diverse mobility scenarios including family transportation, urban commuting, and shared mobility.

"The AION V, AION Y, and HYPTEC HT stand out with their stylish designs, premium quality, high-tech and long-range capabilities," said the group.

The GS4 HEV is said to deliver smooth handling, and a combined range of over 1,000km.

Meanwhile, the AION ES is GAC's flagship model tailored for shared mobility.

At the launch event, GAC inked a co-operation agreement with Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia (Inmetro) to enhance Brazil's automotive industry competitiveness.

Brazil's legendary musician Gilberto Gil also became the first GAC vehicle owner in Brazil.
