Genesis North America chief Del Rosso takes personal leave
By CARSIFU | 07 July 2021
LOS ANGELES: Hyundai Motor North America Jose Munoz has stepped in as the interim chief for Genesis Motor North America, Automotive News reported.
This followed the sudden announcement that the Genesis CEO Mark Del Rosso had taken a leave of absence as of July 1. Genesis did not provide details of the leave nor the length of his absence. It said the leave was of a "personal" nature.
Del Rosso took up the Genesis position in October 2019. Prior to that, he was a senior executive at Audi and Bentley.
Genesis' bottom line improved under his tenure. Deliveries more than doubled to 19,298 in the first half of 2020, boosted in part by sales of the GV70 and GV80 crossovers.
