LOS ANGELES: Genesis on Wednesday unveiled the X Gran Equator Concept, its first adventure vehicle, ahead of the 2025 New York International Auto Show.
The model reinterprets the marque’s “Athletic Elegance” ethos for overlanding, pairing minimalist styling with rugged capability.
Its elongated bonnet and streamlined cabin flow into a fast-back C-pillar, disrupting conventional SUV proportions, while matte wheel-arch treatment and 24-inch beadlock wheels signal true off-road intent.
Auxiliary lighting adopts a geometric motif, and a split-opening tailgate integrates seamlessly with Genesis’ signature Two-Line headlamps to balance form with function.

Inside, the X Gran Equator Concept fuses analogue cues with cutting-edge digital interfaces.
A central four-circle display cluster—reminiscent of vintage camera dials—anchors an uncluttered dashboard defined by clean, linear surfaces.
Contrasting hues and crisp angles replace decorative flourishes, drawing attention toward the road, while swivelling front seats and configurable storage modules enhance versatility on extended journeys.
The “Gran Equator” name pays homage to the famed Arabian stallion, symbolising endurance, agility and refined power—qualities the concept seeks to embody.
Genesis describes the vehicle as equally at home in wilderness environs and urban settings, reflecting its ambition to broaden the brand’s lifestyle-oriented portfolio.

Though no production plans have been confirmed, the concept introduces practical innovations such as integrated roof rails optimised for outdoor gear and a bi-parting tailgate that facilitates loading in confined spaces.
Visitors can view the X Gran Equator Concept at Genesis’ Javits Convention Center stand in New York from April 18, with a subsequent public exhibition at Genesis House in New York’s Meatpacking District through July.
