INGOLSTADT: Audi announced that its Prologue Avant Concept will debut at Geneva and will feature the same 3.0-litre TDI V6 found in the upcoming Q7 e-tron quattro with 750Nm of torque.

There's going to be 350bhp and under the hood coupled to an electric motor that relies on a lithium-ion battery pack with 14.1kWh of energy , providing up to 54km of emission-less propulsion.

The combined power figures have been rated at 450bhp and 750Nm of torque, while an eight-speed tiptronic manages power delivery (via a flat shift-by-wire selector lever) to its quattro all-wheel-drive system.

In terms of performance the concept will launch to 100kph in 5.1sec before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250kph while wearing 22-inch wheels with 285/30 tyres.

Despite all that power, it has an average fuel economy of 1.6L/100km with CO2 emissions of 43g/km to minimise its carbon footprint.

The concept features two filler ports - one on each side, with the left reserved for electric charging and the right for diesel fuel.

While the concept uses an adaptive air suspension for comfort, stopping power comes from a set of 20-inch carbon fibre ceramic brake discs partially hidden by 22-inch wheels with 285/30 tyres.

Further improving stability, the concept uses lightweight five-arm wishbone constructions for the front and rear axles and sports a dynamic all-wheel-drive steering system that can also turn the rear wheels by up to five-degrees.

While at low to moderate speeds, the rear steering system will turn the rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front wheels but at higher speeds it steers in the same direction as the front.

Dimensionally, the concept stands 5,110mm-long, 1,970mm-wide and 1,400mm-tall on its 2,990mm wheelbase and gets Audi's latest high-resolution Matrix Laser technology for the headlights (LEDs for the rear).

The handle-less doors are equipped with an illuminated touch sensor that unlocks and unlatches via an electric motor.

Inside, the interior offers four individual seats, a modern dashboard design with three OLED touch displays with two more behind the front's headrests.

“With our show car for Geneva, we now translate the design language of the Audi prologue into a new, dynamic and stretched form. We are merging it with a concept of high variability”, said Audi board member Ulrich Hackenberg.
