LONDON: The Jaecoo 5 was a crowd-puller at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The SUV completed full runs of the iconic Hillclimb, driven by an all-female team of professional drivers – a deliberate move that underscores Jaecoo’s focus on inclusivity and new energy in the automotive sector.
Designed as a premium compact SUV with urban appeal, its poised performance, paired with its distinctive exterior design – shared with the Jaecoo 7 – and well-appointed cabin, attracted significant attention from visitors.
Powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the Jaecoo 5 is generously equipped across both Pure and Luxury trim levels.
As standard (Pure trim), the Jaecoo 5 features automatic halogen headlights, a six-speaker SONY audio system, level 2 ADAS, six-way adjustable seats, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Luxury trim adds a panoramic roof, an eight-speaker SONY audio system, wireless phone charging, and six-way power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats.
Jaecoo UK country director Victor Zhang commented, "Jaecoo launched in the UK just this January, yet brand recognition is already strong – many visitors approached us having seen our TV adverts, visited local dealerships, and, best of all, some were genuinely excited after test-driving or even purchasing a Jaecoo 7."
“The Jaecoo 5 might be compact, but it’s mighty – and its Hillclimb runs demonstrated exactly why we’re so confident about its role in our fast-growing UK line-up."
"It’s stylish, capable and packed with technology that customers increasingly expect as standard.”
