SUBANG JAYA: Proton has appointed Grand Motors Sdn Bhd as the authorised distributor of Proton e.MAS vehicles in Brunei.
Proton says the appointment expands the international footprint of its new-energy vehicle business following the introduction of Proton e.MAS in Singapore.
Grand Motors, which has more than 40 years of experience in Brunei’s automotive industry, will be responsible for Proton e.MAS sales, marketing, customer engagement and aftersales support in the country.
The company will also operate a dedicated Proton e.MAS showroom and service centre.
“Proton is committed to expanding its role in future mobility, both in Malaysia and in export markets,” said Proton International Corp CEO Edmund Lim Meng Thong.
“The appointment of Grand Motors is an important milestone for Proton e.MAS as we continue to build on the success of our EV (electric vehicle) business and introduce Malaysian-developed mobility solutions to more customers across the region. Brunei is also a natural market for Proton e.MAS."
It should also be noted the appointment of Grand Motors applies specifically to Proton e.MAS and its new-energy vehicle range.
PAD Motors Sdn Bhd will remain Proton’s authorised distributor in Brunei for its internal combustion-engine vehicle line-up, including the Saga, S70, X50, X70 and X90.
