SYDNEY: GWM Australia and New Zealand has launched the latest-generation Haval H6GT Hi4 PHEV (plug-in hybrid), which introduces the brand’s advanced Hi4 intelligent hybrid all-wheel drive (AWD) technology alongside a comprehensively upgraded cabin.
While retaining its recognisable coupe-inspired exterior design, the interior has been significantly elevated, headlined by the integration of the latest Coffee OS infotainment system.
Positioned as a performance-inspired yet efficiency-led SUV (sport utility vehicle), the H6GT PHEV was first introduced as GWM’s first plug-in hybrid in 2025.
Since launch, it has gained strong traction in Australia, with more than 2,300 units sold to date.
Electrified variants now account for 51.5% of total H6GT sales versus petrol.

According to national VFACTS data, the PHEV variant has also secured a 3.3% share of the Australian PHEV segment.
When combined with the broader H6 range, GWM has delivered more than 2,700 plug-in hybrid vehicles in under 14 months.
In March 2026, GWM was Australia’s second-largest seller of plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The new H6GT Hi4 PHEV integrates GWM’s Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD) system, an advanced electrified AWD architecture designed to optimise efficiency, traction and performance.
Hi4 combines a dedicated hybrid powertrain with dual-motor electric all-wheel drive capability, enabling intelligent torque distribution between the front and rear axles.

The system continuously analyses driving inputs, road surface conditions and power demand to seamlessly balance efficiency and performance in real time.
Key benefits include:
- Intelligent all-wheel drive control for enhanced traction and stability.
- Optimised real-world efficiency, prioritising electric operation where appropriate.
- Seamless hybrid operation, blending petrol and electric power without perceptible transitions.
- Adaptive performance delivery, supporting both urban efficiency and dynamic driving capability.
The H6GT PHEV produces a combined 321kW (436PS) of power and 642Nm of torque, delivering rapid acceleration from 0–100kph in 4.6 seconds.

Equipped with a 35.43kWh battery, it achieves a class-leading electric-only driving range of up to 183km (NEDC), while maintaining an exceptionally low combined fuel consumption of just 0.6 litre per 100km (NEDC).
The model also offers a combined driving range of up to 1,183km.
The H6GT Hi4 PHEV’s interior has been comprehensively upgraded, bringing it into alignment with the latest H6 design philosophy.
There is a cleaner, more minimalist layout, and improved ergonomics and higher-quality material selection.

Suede-appointed seats embossed with ‘GT’ provide a distinctive sporty edge.
A sleek, column-mounted gear selector frees up space on the centre console for additional storage and provides space for a dedicated wireless phone charger.
A key highlight of the interior transformation is the introduction of Coffee OS, GWM’s advanced intelligent operating system that powers infotainment, connectivity and in-vehicle interaction.
Powered from the 14.6-inch 1080P resolution infotainment display, the new Coffee OS delivers significantly faster processing speeds.
The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
