KUALA LUMPUR: The first locally assembled GWM Ora 5 Hi2 HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) has rolled out from the EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) plant in Melaka.
GWM's newest compact hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) is set to make its Malaysian debut this November.
The Ora 5 Hi2 HEV features a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and electric motor which deliver a combined 223PS and 476Nm of torque, paired with a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission for smooth, responsive performance.
It can deliver fuel consumption as low as 4.4 litres per 100km and a total driving range exceeding 1,100km.
In addition, the Ora 5 HEV achieved a Guinness World Records title for the lowest fuel consumption driving to all directly administered municipalities in China by a hybrid electric powered production SUV, recording just 3.74 litres per 100km over 3,004km.
Bookings for the Ora 5 Hi2 HEV are now open nationwide, with an estimated selling price of below RM115,000.
With more than 10,000 GWM vehicles assembled locally and over 1,100 Malaysia-assembled GWM Wey G9 units exported to Thailand and Indonesia, the Ora 5 Hi2 HEV further strengthens Malaysia's role within GWM's regional manufacturing footprint.

Combining performance, efficiency, design and practicality, we believe it will offer customers more than they expect from a compact hybrid SUV."

To celebrate its fourth anniversary, GWM Malaysia is offering customers the chance to win the Ora 5 Hi2 HEV in an exclusive grand lucky draw.
Customers who purchase a GWM vehicle in November or December 2026 will be eligible, with the winner announced in January 2027.
Adding to the excitement, separate monthly lucky draws in November and December will offer a combined prize pool of up to RM100,000 across both months.
Exclusive year-end privileges are also available across the GWM model line-up, with model-specific offers including financing rates from as low as 0.08%, benefits worth up to RM17,000, insurance and trade-in support, extended warranties and complimentary maintenance.
