PETALING JAYA: Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has revealed three new models at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 that it intends to launch locally.

The models are the Cannon pick-up truck, and the Haval H6 and Haval Jolion hybrid electric vehicles.

The models are part of the Chinese brand's Intelligent New Energy Vehicle (NEV) offering that features advanced technologies and cutting-edge designs.

The Cannon is known for its rugged and yet stylish design and is a top selling model for 25 consecutive years, accounting for 70% of the total export volume in China.

Powering the Cannon is a 2.0-litre turbo engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and supported by a level 2 autonomous driving system.

The third-generation Haval H6 Hybrid model is among the most popular SUVs in China with a top sales volume for 100 straight months with 4 million units sold worldwide.

The Haval H6 is designed with safety, advanced technologies and fuel economy in a sleek design.

The vehicle is built on LEMON, GWM’s highly intelligent modular platform, and is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo hybrid powertrain that delivers 530Nm of torque and a total system output of 243PS.

The front grille, centre brake lights, and sleek body styling give this vehicle a striking and elegant look.

The Haval Jolion HEV also gets a turbocharged 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain that cranks out a system output of 139kW and 375Nm of torque.

With a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) system, the Jolion promises performance with fuel efficiency.

Also featured in the Jolion are a 12.3-inch Smart Touch Screen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch virtual instrument that provides precise and clear driving information.

GWM’s plans for a “New Energy Era” are guided by its Forest Ecosystem, a multi-interactive ecosystem that integrates new energy, intelligence, and other related technology industries.

Following the implementation of GWM’s new Asean strategy and a goal to launch a total of nine models over the next three years, GWM Malaysia is focused on providing innovative products and services that cater to the needs of local consumers.

Meanwhile, GWM Malaysia also showcased an Ora Good Cat electric vehicle in Coral Blue decked in a dynamic body kit and a rooftop cargo box, while another Good Cat in white sports an unique performance kit.

GWM Malaysia is offering a surprise package that is only available during the four-day event.

Customers who purchase a Good Cat before May 7 will enjoy a free installation of an electric power tailgate worth up to RM2,000, and charging credits worth RM1,000 (appointed Charge Point Operators only).

The charging credit promotion is valid for purchases until May 31.
