KUALA LUMPUR: The new GWM Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) has secured over 800 bookings within its first week.
GWM Malaysia said this reflects strong early demand for Malaysia’s first locally assembled luxury new energy MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
“For us, the bookings are more than a number, they show that customers understand what the WEY G9 stands for,” said GWM Malaysia managing director Cui Anqi.
“This vehicle represents our vision of intelligent luxury mobility, combining advanced technology with real comfort. The early response tells us Malaysians are ready to move into a new era of new energy mobility,” he said.
GWM Malaysia chief operating officer Roslan Abdullah added, “This milestone reflects not only strong consumer demand, but also the capability of Malaysia’s local assembly ecosystem. Powered by GWM’s Hi4 intelligent hybrid system, the Wey G9 delivers up to 170km of pure electric driving and a total range exceeding 1,000km.
The model is priced at RM269,800.
