KUALA LUMPUR: The heat is on for this weekend's grand prix as triple world champion Lewis Hamilton said that "it's going to be a hot race" at a Petronas meet-and-greet session today with teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Hamilton was referring to the Malaysian weather as well as implying a fight to the finish at this weekend's grand prix in Sepang.

"It's so hot right now and I expect it will be even hotter on race day. Being in the cockpit we can expect the temperature to be over 60 degrees Celcius," said Hamilton.

Both drivers expressed sadness that this will be their last time racing in Sepang as it is one of the most challenging and exciting circuits in Formula One.

Also present at the event was Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin, vice president, marketing, downstream business Petronas; Datuk Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus, chief executive office and managing director of Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Eric Holthusen, head, group project delivery & technology, Petronas Lubricants International.

The event also showcased the Petronas Syntium engine oil - designed for Formula One and now available to the public - which has been formulated to handle excessive engine heat and maintain optimum performance whether on the race track or the road.
