Hino Malaysia rolls out locally assembled Euro 5 LCVS

SENDAYAN, Negeri Sembilan: Hino Malaysia has rolled out its first locally assembled Euro 5 light commercial vehicle (LCV) 4-wheeler units at the Sendayan plant, Negeri Sembilan.

Recetly, four units were officially handed over to Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) in a roll-out ceremony.

This marks the first Euro 5 compliant LCV 4-wheeler assembled in Malaysia, delivered ahead of the Department of Environment (DOE)’s latest emissions regulations, which require all new commercial vehicle models to meet Euro 4 or above standards.

As a complete knocked down (CKD) model, the vehicle is engineered to ensure full compliance with all regulations.

Hino Motors Manufacturing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMMMY) managing director Hiroshi Yamaguchi said, "We are proud to produce the very first Euro 5 Hino model and to mark it as the first locally assembled Euro 5 LCV 4-wheeler in Malaysia.:

HMSM managing director Hiroshi Takahashi added, "It is not just about meeting regulations; it is about offering a product that supports cleaner transport and adds value to the businesses.”

The new Euro 5 model introduces key upgrades over the current variant, including a diesel particulate active Reduction (DPR) System that captures and burns off exhaust soot to reduce emissions.

The DPR system is designed to minimise emissions level without compromising engine performance, contributing to greater environmental sustainability.

The new model also comes with enhanced safety features and improved user friendliness, including the addition of an airbag system and upgraded gear components.

The Euro 5 LCV 4-wheeler and 6-wheeler range is set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.
