PETALING JAYA: A Hino truck operated by courier company GD Express Sdn Bhd (GDEX) has reached one million kilometres without the need to go through an engine overhaul, and this was celebrated in a Reliability Certificate award ceremony organised by Hino Motors Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSM).

HMSM managing director Atsushi Uchiyama presented the Reliability Certificate to GDEX, in recognition of the truck's reliability and the courier company's steadfast maintenance of the truck.

“The reliability of a truck is a major concern for business owners. Travelling for one million kilometres without the need to undergo an engine overhaul not only proves the reliability of our truck but also shows the credibility of Hino Total Support Value,” said Uchiyama.

The truck had been operating since 2006 on long and line haul routes of Ayer Keroh, Malacca and the Southern region.

GDEX managing director Teong Teck Lean said, "Good maintenance of the truck includes on-time servicing at Hino authorised service centres and using Hino genuine parts."

Teong also expressed his satisfaction with driver training programmes conducted at Hino Total Support Customer Centre (HTSCC) in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan and said the drivers’ skill also played an important role in truck reliability.
