PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia has introduced a new City Hatchback V-SENSING variant that gets the Honda SENSING suite of smart driving features.

The new variant comes with on-the-road without insurance inclusive of sales tax exemption price of RM91,708.

The V-SENSING variant is based on the V variant that is priced at RM87,860 or some RM3,800 cheaper.

The V-SENSING is also the second City Hatchback variant after the e:HEV RS variant to get Honda SENSING array of advanced equipment.

Honda Malaysia had launched the City V-SENSING in November last year and the variant has accounted for 34% of the sedan's sales in the first quarter of the year.

The Honda SENSING package includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High Beam (AHB).

In addition, the V-SENSING's instrument panel has also been upgraded to a 7-inch Interactive Thin Film Transistor (TFT) type.

The V-SENSING is powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC i–VTEC engine delivering a top-of-its-class 121PS and 145Nm of torque coupled with Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) for a balance of fun-to-drive experience and fuel efficiency.

Other key features include the multi-configurable ULTRA seats, leather upholstery, LED Headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), LED Front Fog Lights, Tailgate Spoiler, LED Taillights, 16-inch alloy wheels and an 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Safety features include Honda LaneWatch camera, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Rear Seat ISOFIX I-SIZE Type, Rear Seatbelt Reminder and six airbags.

Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Hironobu Yoshimura said the Honda SENSING system has been well-received by Honda customers.

“For the first quarter of 2022, the City V-SENSING contributed 34% to the total City sales, which shows a positive trend for this variant and also the recognition of Honda SENSING, our advanced safety technology.

“We are now excited to introduce the V-SENSING variant to the all-new City Hatchback. We believe that with two City Hatchback variants now available with Honda SENSING, it will further add value for our customers while raising the benchmark in the segment,” he said.
