Honda City V-SENSING variant introduced with Honda SENSING, priced from RM90,200

PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia has added new variant, the City V-SENSING, that comes with the Honda SENSING suite of smart safety devices.
Previously, only the RS e:HEV variant of the City line-up was equipped with this feature.
Priced at RM90,212 on-the-road price without insurance and without sales tax, the new variant also comes with a 7-inch Interactive Thin Film Transistor (TFT) instrument meter that provides easy access to driving and safety information.
Sales tax exemption ends on June 30 next year.
The City V-SENSING is based on the V variant which is priced at RM86,561.
The Honda SENSING equipment in new variant are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High Beam (AHB).
The City V-SENSING comes with the most powerful engine in its segment – a 1.5L DOHC i–VTEC engine delivering 121PS and 145Nm of torque coupled with Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) for a balance of performance and fuel efficiency.
Key features of the City V-SENSING variant are six airbags, Honda LaneWatch camera, combination leather seats with ivory highlights, LED Headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), LED Fog Lights, LED Taillights and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Like the V variant, V-SENSING also comes with rear air conditioner vents, an 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, steering wheel paddle shifters and Remote Engine Start.
Other features include rear seat belt reminder, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Rear Seat ISOFIX I-size type, and reverse sensors with Multi-Angle Reverse Camera.
Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Madoka Chujo said safety is Honda’s priority and the City had always been the forerunner in offering safety features for both drivers and passengers using advanced technology.
“We are delighted to introduce this new variant to the Malaysian market, enabling them to now have more options to choose from in the City line-up with a total of five variants available,” she said.
She also said the City V-SENSING has the most complete advanced safety features in the B-segment with an attractive price tag that is below RM100,000.
“We believe this model will continue to receive much recognition for its overall package of class-leading advanced features, space, comfort and unparalleled performance.
“Since we launched the fifth generation City in October 2020, we have recorded total sales of more than 23,300 units. To-date, the City has contributed 34% to Honda Malaysia’s total sales between January and October 2021, making it the best-selling model in Honda Malaysia,” said Chujo.
