Honda Malaysia recalls 702 units involving 2021 City Hybrid and 2022 Civic

PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia has issued a recall for 702 vehicles involving the 2021 City Hybrid and 2022 Civic models.

Under the exercise, 630 units of the City Hybrid were recalled as a precautionary safety measure to replace the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) camera that is fitted in the front windscreen.

The camera may not operate properly and cause ADAS to be inactive during driving.

The 72 units of the Civic recalled were done as a precautionary safety measure to rectify the welding point at the slide adjuster in the driver seat.

This may cause the driver seat to be not fixed in position during driving and may compromise the seatbelt protection for the driver.

Honda Malaysia said it apologised for the inconvenience caused to affected customers and reassured that other current production and selling models were not affected in this exercise.

“As of today, there are no incidences of crashes or injuries caused by this issue reported in Malaysia,” the company said, adding that customer safety is Honda Malaysia’s top priority.
