How to deal with dead insects on your car without damaging the paint
By DPA | 30 May 2019BERLIN: There are few better places in the world to look for dead insects than on the front of a well-travelled car.
But if you value the coat of paint on your car, you're advised not to use special chemicals or a high-pressure hose to remove anything that's stuck to the body of the car.
Instead there's another method that simpler, cheaper and more environmentally friendly: soften them with some water. Soak an old towel or cloth in some water, lay it over the affected area and leave it for a few hours.
You can add a few drops of washing-up liquid to help with stubborn remains. Afterwards, the dirt should be easy enough to wipe off without the need to scrape it off.
Finally, you'll make it much easier for yourself if you make it harder for insects to get stuck to the car in the first place: Rub some wax on the hood and you should notice far less dirt and insects.
