KUALA LUMPUR: To support and uplift the country’s next generation of automotive professionals, Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has signed a collaboration of cooperation with three academies — TVET MARA Masjid Tanah, SLC Auto Academy, and Despark International College (DSIC).
Guided by Hyundai’s global vision of Progress for Humanity, this initiative underscores HMY’s long-term commitment to nurturing local talent and supporting the sustainable growth of Malaysia’s automotive industry.
By investing in education, skills transfer, and future-ready technologies, HMY aims to play an active role in strengthening the nation’s automotive ecosystem for generations to come.
Hyundai Motor Malaysia managing director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen said, “Hyundai Motor Malaysia is committed to accelerating the future of mobility while making a meaningful contribution to the communities in which we operate."
"Our ‘Sentiasa Di Sisi Anda’ promise extends beyond our customers — it reflects our dedication to supporting local communities and nurturing the next generation. Through this partnership with local academies, we aim to equip young talents with relevant skills and real-world exposure, contributing to the development of a workforce that can stay ahead of industry advancements and help drive the continued growth of Malaysia’s automotive sector.”
The collaboration introduces a three-day programme across five sessions in 2026, designed to give students and teachers hands-on exposure to the technologies shaping tomorrow’s mobility.
The programme focuses on areas that are crucial to modern vehicle development and aftersales support.
It is aimed at equipping some 360 students and teacher participants with the relevant industry skills and knowledge to stay aligned with evolving trends.
Its topics include vehicular network communication and advanced body electrical, advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) future mobility, and eco-friendly vehicle systems safety and repair.
“The collaboration strengthens industry engagement for TVET MARA Masjid Tanah, particularly in expertise sharing, latest automotive technology practices, and student placements in the field of Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEV)," said TVET MARA Masjid Tanah director Shabudin Said.
"This partnership marks an important step towards strengthening talent development and technical skills in the automotive field, particularly in producing a high-quality, competent, and industry-ready workforce. We hope this collaboration will bring meaningful benefits to both parties while opening more opportunities for trainees and future generations,” said SLC Auto Academy head of department Hananth Parasuraman.
"This partnership reflects our shared vision of bridging academic learning with the evolving needs of the automotive industry. Through this collaboration, we look forward to enhancing industry exposure, knowledge sharing, and workforce development opportunities for students,” said Despark International College (DSIC) CEO Cherrie Lee Hsian Thoong.
