The fully imported model comes in four variants comprising two petrol and two diesel versions, available in either 7-seat or 8-seat configuration. The petrol variants are being marketed as the more premium.
Both petrol variants use a 3.8-litre V6 engine that produces 291hp at 6,000rpm and 355Nm of torque at 5,200rpm.
The diesel variants are fitted with a 2.2-litre turbo diesel mill making 197hp at 3,800rpm and 440Nm from 1,750rpm to 2,750rpm.
The four variants are: EXEC 7 at RM348,888 and EXEC 8 at RM328,888 (diesel engine variants); and LUXE 7 at RM358,888 and LUXE 8 RM338,888 (petrol engine variants).
The virtual launch today followed on from an on-site media preview of the SUV at the Hyundai-Sime Darby Motor dealership in Ara Damansara here on Tuesday.
The SUV, which competes against the Mazda CX-9, combines a bold design with a touch of elegance, and a large dose of versatility.
Hyundai-Sime Darby Motor said the Palisade's smart safety features are complemented with the multipurpose cabin space that can be easily transformed into a variety of second and third-row configurations to suit cargo or passenger space.
With third-row seats folded, the Palisade offers a generous 1,297-litres of cargo space.
Smart application features in the second-row seats include a smart one-touch walk-in button that automatically readjusts the second-row seat position for easier third-row entry and exit.
For added spaciousness, rear seat passengers can enjoy a dual-wide sunroof that not only brightens the interior of the car but is also well suited for countryside adventures as it brings nature closer to passengers all within the comfort of the Palisade.
Providing peace of mind on the road, the Palisade is equipped with Hyundai’s cutting-edge SmartSense, an Advanced Driver Assistance System.
A series of smart safety features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Safe Exit Alert, among others.
Other features are its six-airbag system, three-zone independent control fully automatic air conditioning, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Head-Up Display and adjustable Smart Power Tailgate to suit preferred height.
The Palisade is available in a choice of five colours: white cream, lagoon silver, steel graphite, moonlight cloud, and timeless black. Black-monotone and navy colour packages are offered for the interior with the options of black leather, and burgundy or warm grey Nappa leather.
Availability of features is dependent on whether the Palisade is petrol or diesel, with the petrol getting the lion's share of the goodies (see specs sheet below).

The Palisade is now available for viewing at the Hyundai Ara Damansara dealership at Sime Darby Motors City here as well as those at Hyundai Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur; Gurney Paragon, George Town, Penang; and Skudai, Johor Baru.
