inDrive confirms APAD licensing approval

KUALA LUMPUR: Global mobility platform inDrive has completed the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD)’s three-month licensing review, confirming its continued approval to operate in Malaysia.

The announcement was made alongside the 2025 Platinum Drivers Awards, where the company recognised Malaysia’s top-performing drivers across Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor Baru.

The awards ceremony marked the finale of the nationwide Platinum Drivers Giveaway.

Over 150 top-tier drivers gathered for the celebration.

Top-performing drivers were rewarded with major prizes including a Perodua Bezza 1.3 AV, Honda ADV 160, Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones, fuel vouchers, and family holiday packages.

This year’s top winner completed 857 rides during the one-month campaign period, standing out among thousands of active Platinum drivers nationwide.

The campaign also recorded an encouraging average 7% rise in completed rides.

inDrive Malaysia driver operations manager Azlan Anwar said, “We are grateful to the Ministry of Transport and APAD for granting us the green light to continue our operations in Malaysia. Their confidence in our compliance efforts allows us to keep supporting the thousands of drivers who rely on inDrive as a sustainable source of income."

"With one of the lowest commission structures in the industry, we remain committed to helping drivers earn more, support their families, and strengthen their livelihoods."

Following the approval, inDrive will continue reinforcing its presence in Malaysia through improved driver onboarding processes, enhanced document re-verification, ongoing internal audits, and expanded driver-support initiatives.

The company remains committed to inclusive mobility, safe ride experiences, and long-term investment in Malaysian communities through initiatives such as the inDrive Academy and accessibility-focused programmes.

The Platinum Drivers Giveaway will return in the first half of 2026, featuring expanded reward categories and enhanced engagement initiatives.

Azlan added, “Our drivers are the heart of our platform. We will continue investing in programmes that recognise real effort and create opportunities for everyone."
