Infiniti Q60 Sports coupe bows to the world

LAS VEGAS: With up to 400hp in performance, the Q60 premium sports coupe is touted by Infiniti to have a combination of expressive design with exhilarating performance and dynamics.

The new Q60 sports coupe is due to go on sale in selected markets in the second half of 2016 with a choice of two engine variants (both equipped with active grille shutter) are are both mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

At the entry-level is a four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, which is good for 208bhp at 5,500rpm and 350Nm of torque from 1,500rpm and sends power to the rear wheels.

However, the range-topping all-new 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo powerplant (derived from Nissan’s ‘VR’ powertrain family) delivers 400bhp at 6,400rpm and 475Nm of torque from 1,600 to 5,200rpm for its rear-biased intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

Dimensionally, the Q60 has a wheelbase of 2,850mm and comes in measuring 4,683mm-long, 1,850mm-wide and 1,385mm-high and has a 0.28 drag coefficient.

Visually, it maintains its double-arch grille that separates the eye-like LED headlights with light guide technology and the crescent-shaped C-pillars that arc forward.

While rolling on standard 19-inch aluminium alloy wheels (optional 20-inch wheels), the adjustable dynamic digital suspension (only for 3.0-litre V6), takes care of and enhances ride comfort that’s accentuated by the second-generation customisable direct adaptive steering system.

And to adapt to the driver’s mood is the drive mode selector that provides six available options of Customise, Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport, and Sport+.

Inside, the cabin possesses a driver-centric layout that immerses the driver in an audio haven via the 13-speaker, Bose Performance Series sound system that’s matched with the car’s acoustic glass and noise cancelling technology,

Furthermore, it also comes equipped as standard with the InTuition central control infotainment system that’s been upgraded with a faster processor – allowing occupants to personalise the interior environment according to preferences, with fully adjustable temperature, seating positions, audio-visual settings, navigation and others.

The active and passive safety technologies include around view monitor, intelligent cruise control with distance control assist, forward emergency braking with pedestrian braking system, lane departure prevention, blind spot intervention and backup collision intervention.
