KUALA LUMPUR: Ipone motorcycle engine oils in newly repackaged, upgraded formulations were recently launched by Specialty Lubricants Trading Sdn Bhd, the brand's official principal in Malaysia.
Ipone is a premium motorcycle lubricant brand under the Motul Group.
Ipone Malaysia also announced that the brand's motorcycle engine oils have obtained Sirim certification.
The launch event introduced Ipone’s upgraded formulations, featuring 100% PAO and ester base oils — high-quality Group 4 and Group 5 base oils, the highest grades available in lubricants today.
By combining ester with these premium base oils, Ipone is touted as delivering superior engine protection, maximum performance, and enhanced efficiency.

Ipone’s new lubricants come in manga-inspired packaging, bringing each product tier to life while expressing Ipone’s Japanese DNA and bold brand identity.
Ipone product tier:
- Shogun (Black Belt): For riders who demand the absolute best, offering maximum protection and performance for track days and high-performance street riding.
- Samurai & Katana (Blue Belt): Fully synthetic oils offering premium performance and responsiveness, with durability and protection for spirited daily rides.
- R4000 (Green Belt) & 10.4 (Orange Belt): Semi-synthetic oils that balance protection, performance and value for everyday riders, ideal for commuting, touring, or mixed use.
- M4 (Yellow Belt): Mineral oil designed compatible bikes, workshops, and riders seeking reliable, accessible lubricants that still upholds Ipone’s quality standards.

Specialty Lubricants Trading (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd country general manager Ravi Shankar said, "We are confident that riders will appreciate our immersive brand experience, oil craftsmanship, and uncompromising quality."
"With distribution now through Specialty Lubricants Trading (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and our new distribution partner MKA Group, customers can look forward to improved service levels and greater accessibility to Ipone products across Malaysia,” he added.
Motul Asia Pacific chief business officer Yoann Koppe added, “I’m also proud to share that Ipone has now obtained Sirim certification, a key milestone that reinforces our commitment to quality and safety, strengthens the trust of our partners and customers, and confirms Malaysia as a priority market for Ipone’s long-term growth.”
The product launch event brought together over 160 participants, including representatives from KPDN, dealers, media, influencers, and staff from both Ipone and MKA Group — Ipone's newly appointed official distributor in Peninsular Malaysia.
Themed around Japanese manga culture to complement the new packaging, the evening featured live caricature sessions, interactive photo walls, DJ performances, and Japanese food stalls.
