KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu Malaysia has solidified its second position in market ranking, following yet another quarter of robust D-Max pick-up truck sales.
In a statement, the company said the increase in volume comes on the back of its best quarterly performance in the first quarter of 2025, leading to a half-year market share of 16% with 3,081 units sold to date.
"The D-Max’s popularity was once again driven by strong demand for the 1.9-litre models offering fuel economy, versatility and comfort, accounting for more than 85.8% of sales," said Isuzu Malaysia.
Among the top sellers was the 1.9-litre 4x4 Auto Premium variant that offers value for money due to its suite of comfort and advanced safety features.
It accounted for 18.6% of total sales.
It was also among the variants that achieved the feat of entering the Malaysian Book of Records for the longest distance travelled in one tank of fuel.
“The results achieved this year reaffirm the trend we have observed since last year when pick-up truck enthusiasts and passenger car converts alike have discovered the benefits of owning and driving these highly capable Isuzu D-Max trucks,” said Isuzu Malaysia CEO Tomoyuki Yamaguchi.
Currently, Isuzu Malaysia offers the widest selection of pick-up trucks in the market.
There are nine Isuzu D-Max variants to choose from, starting from the new 1.9-litre Low Ride 4x2 workhorse, right up to the multi award-winning X-Terrain.
“Key efforts for the second half of the year will focus on improving the accessibility of our products by reaching out to potential customers beyond the perimeters of our outlets and offering them immersive experiences that highlight the key benefits of our products,” added chief operating officer Kenichi Kudo.
