PETALING JAYA: In 2025, Isuzu trucks in Malaysia achieved its highest-ever market share of 56.1% with a total registration of 6,880 units, a leap up from the previous high of 47.1 percent achieved in 2023.
The Isuzu D-Max also strengthened its position to command 15% of the pick-up truck segment, raising the brand to the second spot nationwide.
In a statement, Isuzu Malaysia said its sales had held steady last year, bucking the downward demand that saw an 11.4% reduction in the commercial vehicle sector and 7.3% drop in the pick-up truck market on the back of the 2024 diesel price policy revision.
Isuzu Malaysia CEO Tomoyuki Yamaguchi attributed the company’s success to key deliverables that meet and exceed the needs of its customers.

“Our established roots in providing a product portfolio that completely satisfies customers’ requirements remains a key factor for Isuzu’s continued popularity here in Malaysia".
“The ability of a well-positioned dealership network that quickly adapted to the changing demands of customers and an after-sales backbone system that is fully focused on keeping our customers constantly moving have all played a part in the brand’s growing popularity,” said Yamaguchi.
Isuzu Elf, the light duty truck that offers impressive payload capabilities despite its compact and manoeuvrable dimensions remains Malaysia’s most popular truck for the 16th consecutive year with 6,362 units registered, making up 92.5% of trucks sold last year.

The medium duty Forward trucks once again claimed the crown as the country’s best-selling medium-duty truck, with 494 units sold in 2025.
Leveraging on the strong reputation of the current Isuzu line-up, the immediate focus of the company will be on enhancing the ownership experience for owners, particularly in its after-sales offerings.
“While we witnessed a 12% intake increase in our after-sales business last year, we believe that through improved services, quicker turn-around visits and greater parts availability, we will be able to provide our customers with even more seamless maintenance visits, thereby providing them with less down time and more enriched drives,” added Yamaguchi.
