KUALA LUMPUR: China's premium off-road brand Jaecoo is making a strong push into the growing local C-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV) market with its upcoming J7 model.
Although the J7 all-wheel drive SUV is equipped with an array of high-tech and premium features, it has been hinted that the model will be competitively priced.
The J7 is expected to be launched in the first half of 2024.
To further pique public interest, the company has set up the Jaecoo Premiere Experience at The Waterfront, Desa Park City here from March 7-17.

The display opens daily from 10am to 10pm.

Jaecoo Malaysia president Leo Chen said the brand is enjoying a lot of interest in Malaysia.
"We believe that the Jaecoo brand is very much in line with Malaysia’s emerging group of trailblazers who enjoy an active lifestyle and appreciate a vehicle that performs on any terrain with an impressive off-road driving experience.
"And this is exactly what we aim to deliver," he said.
Meanwhile, Jaecoo Malaysia vice-president Emily Lek said the brand's debut is timely as Malaysia is experiencing growing demand for SUVs.
"We believe Jaecoo is well positioned as a strong challenger in the C-segment SUV market, in line with the positive sentiments from prospect customers," she said.
The J7 design embraces a spirit of adventure and resilience with refined style seen from its warship-inspired door handles, panoramic sunroof, fighter jet-inspired gear shifter and distinguished columnar "waterfall" grille.
The model also comes with up to 21 smart driving functions within the vehicle's advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that includes a windshield head-up-display (W-HUD), built-in front dashcam, 64 ambient lights, 50W wireless charging with cooler and many other features for a high level of safety and luxurious ambiance.
