SYDNEY: In Australia, the new Jaecoo J5 EV (electric vehicle) has surpassed 2,000 units sold within just three months of its launch.
Omoda Jaecoo Australia says yhe strong early sales performance highlights the growing appeal of the Jaecoo brand among Australian consumers, with the J5 EV resonating strongly thanks to its combination of modern design, advanced technology, and exceptional value.
In Australia, the Jaecoo J5 EV is backed by an eight-year unlimited-km vehicle warranty, including battery coverage.

The J5 EV comes in a highly equipped single variant that has a single electric motor, producing 155kW (211PS)/288Nm, with power sent to the front wheels.
This allows effortless overtaking with a 0-100kph acceleration in 7.7 seconds.
The J5 can travel up to 402km (WLTP) and can be charged from 30-80% in 28 minutes via a DC fast charger.
Maximum towing mass for a non-braked trailer is 750kg.
Features include a rear lightbar that stretches across the boot with Jaecoo lettering, an EV-specific front grille with active aero, slimline headlines, sloping roofline and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The minimalist yet functional interior is highlighted by a 13.2-inch touchscreen that controls things such as air conditioning, digital radio, vehicle settings plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It includes passive safety like seven airbags, while there’s also a long list of advanced safety systems such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).
The pet-friendly synthetic leather is made of a special silicone-based material, which is antibacterial and wear-resistant.
Not only is it more durable, but it’s also easier to clean.
