Jaecoo J7 test drives off to a good start


KUALA LUMPUR: The test drive sessions of Jaecoo Malaysia’s J7 maiden premium off-road SUV has gotten off on a good footing with some 470 test drives from May 9-12.

Jaecoo Malaysia's collaboration with BON Estates saw some 2,000 visitors to BON Estate's gallery in Bangsar, here over four days to test the premium SUV.

Jaecoo Malaysia president Leo Chen said Jaecoo's brand appeal matched the country's emerging group of sophisticated urbanites who enjoyed the finer things in life.

Jaecoo Malaysia vice-president Emily Lek said the most popular features of the J7 revealed during the test drives were the vehicle's torque delivery, manoeuvrability, user friendliness and the extreme comfort of the multi-link suspension system.

Among other features of the J7 AWD and 2WD that proved to intrigue guests included the SUVs Intelligent Technology Cabin made accessible by a 14.8-Inch Central Display, which houses the SUV’s navigation controls.

Furthermore, convenience features such as a 540-degree camera, 50W Air-cooled Wireless Charger, SONY Surround Sound System and Apple Car Play and Android Auto added to the J7’s desirable package.

During the test drive, guests had a first-hand experience of the J7’s engine performance and J7 AWD’s adaptive controls with seven different driving modes to tackle all-road conditions, all while delivering best-in-class fuel efficiency and acceleration with a consumption of 7.48l/100km.

The J7 also displayed the design and technology behind its global 5-star security and safety standard through the test drives.

The J7 AWD is estimated at RM160,000 while the J7 2WD is estimated at RM150,000.

The J7 test drives will continue at the BON Estates Gallery on appointment basis.

Subsequently, the public will also have the opportunity to test drive the J7 during the highly anticipated Malaysia Autoshow 2024 being held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) from May 22 to 24.
