KUALA LUMPUR: Jetour Malaysia has expanded its Malaysian line-up with the launch of its T2 sport utility vehicle (SUV).
Targeting buyers seeking a combination of everyday usability and some off-road capability, the T2 is priced on-the-road without insurance at RM156,800 and includes a seven-year or 150,000km warranty as well as a 10-year or 1,000,000km engine warranty and five free services.
The SUV is the brand's new flagship model within its product lineup that includes the Dashing (from 109,800) and VT9 SUVs (from RM118,800).
For early adopters, a cash rebate of RM2,000 will be provided for the first 3,000 registrations, which drops the price down to RM154,800.
Bookings are said to have exceeded 2,000 at present according to Jetour Malaysia sales director Mohd Azhar during the T2's product presentation.

For colour options, the T2 can be had in Khaki White, Aviation Silver and Carbon Black.
It should be noted that Jetour Malaysia operates independently from Chery Auto Malaysia, despite both brands originating from Chery Holding Group in China.
In terms of size, the T2 (and its 1,880kg of kerb heft) has a 2,800mm wheelbase, while measuring 4,785mm in length, 2006mm in width and 1,870mm in overall height.
This provides the T2 with 580 litres of boot space that can be expanded to 1,494 litres with the seats down.
Positioned as an adventure SUV, the T2 arrives with 2.0-litre (1,998cc) turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine, producing 245PS at 5,500rpm and 375Nm of torque from 1,750 to 4,000rpm
Power is managed by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission before sending it to the Intelligent XWD all-wheel-drive system.

The XWD features a 7+X drive mode that's said to adapt torque distribution according to terrain and driving conditions by allowing its driver to select Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock and an intelligent X-Mode driving mode.
Aside from this, there's also Crawl Control Mode, Auto-Start-Stop functionality, remote engine start, and a welcome mode.
The SUV uses 19-inch wheels fitted with 255/60 series tyres as well as automatic LED headlights, an illuminated Jetour front light signature, rear LED light clusters, a rear-mounted spare wheel, and a powered rear sideways-opening tailgate.
Inside, the cabin features a 15.6-inch multimedia touchscreen that provides Bluetooth connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, while double-glazed windows help reduce outside noise intrusion.

The system also comes with “Hello Jetour” voice assistance and a 50W wireless charger - all while powering a 12-speaker premium audio system from Sony, along with four USB ports (front) and two more at the rear.
Cabin also features leatherette upholstery which includes the multi-function steering wheel that comes with paddle-shifters as well as three steering modes of Light, Comfort and Sport, ventilation for the front seats and power adjustability for the driver (10-way with memory and welcome function) and passenger (four-way).
An automatic dual-zone climate control and multi-colour ambient lighting system, panoramic sunroof, and automatic wipers round off the conveniences.
For safety, there are six airbags, electronic stability programme, hill-hold control, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system panoramic view monitoring system with transparent chassis view.

Also included are Level 2.0 advanced driver aid systems (ADAS), such as autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, integrated cruise assistant, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning, lane assist interference, intelligent avoidance system, front departure alert, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning door opening warning, and intelligent highbeam.

In conjunction with the launch, Jetour Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding with Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia to highlight the company’s commitment to sustainability and responsible exploration.
