Jetour targeting strong debut in Malaysia
By CARSIFU | 08 January 2025KUALA LUMPUR: Jetour Malaysia has revealed its ambitious plans for Chinese car brand in Malaysia this year, which includes the setting up of over 20 outlets nationwide and introduction of locally-assembled premium models.
This strategic expansion includes more than 10 new facilities of 4S and 3S centres slated to open in the first quarter alone, marking a significant milestone in Jetour’s commitment to redefining Malaysia’s SUV market.
The rapid network expansion will see new showrooms in both Peninsular and East Malaysia, including key locations in Selangor, Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak.
Aside from Jetour's upcoming innovative vehicles and service offerings, Jetour has also secured its supply of spare parts in Malaysia, reinforcing its readiness to provide seamless sales experiences and exceptional after-sales support.
Jetour International vice-president Kevin Xu said 2025 would be a pivotal year for Jetour Malaysia.
"Our goal is to become Malaysians’ preferred travel companion, offering vehicles that inspire adventure and embody our dedication to quality and innovation.
"With our expanding network of service outlets and comprehensive support infrastructure, we are committed to ensuring accessibility and reliability for our customers.
"These efforts reflect our commitment to building a strong and enduring connection with the Malaysian market," he said at a media gathering here.
Established in 2018, Jetour is a premium SUV brand driven by its innovative "Travel+" concept, focusing on scenario-based and platform-driven products.
Jetour Malaysia will launch its first sports utility vehicle (SUV) – the Jetour Dashing – in the first quarter of the year with local assembly operations to start in the following months.
The Dashing also comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, a six-speed DCT transmission, remote car start function and a centre infotainment screen that is merged with the instrument panel to form a widescreen display.
It also features Vanguard technology that combines intelligent safety with stylish aesthetics and thrilling performance among others.
The company also plans to introduce its spacious SUV called "X70" later in the year but the model will be renamed for the local market to avoid having a similar tag with Proton's X70 model.
Also in the pipeline are battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
Xu said Jetour's entry into Malaysia represents a long-term commitment to fostering growth, driving innovation, and contributing to the local automotive industry.
"With its growing footprint and innovative product line-up, Jetour Malaysia is poised to deliver a year of endless adventures for Malaysian drivers," he said.
