PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has denied claims on Instagram ads that people can buy an approved driving licence without having to sit for either the highway code and driving tests.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) said the ads were "fake news" in a post on its Facebook page.

The advertisements claim that individuals can use their services to obtain a driving licence within three days without having to sit for the computerised highway code and driving tests.

JPJ said it would probe the culprits behind the claims.

The department also said it would be lodging reports with the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission on the matter.

JPJ urged the public not to fall for such ruse and to contact its nearest office for any inquiries.
