Kawasaki Setapak 4S centre launched

KUALA LUMPUR: Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (Emos), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas), has officially launched its second flagship 4S centre, Kawasaki Setapak.

The flagship 4S center, known as the Kawasaki All Star, offers a comprehensive range of Kawasaki motorcycle models.

All Kawasaki All Stars adhere to the design and construction standards of Kawasaki Plazas in Japan, placing emphasis on product display and visual merchandising.

The launch event was attended by Kawasaki Setapak director William Ho, Emos CEO Roslan Roskan and chief marketing officer George Kashiwagi, and Malaysian Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA) president Datuk Wee Hong.

Kawasaki Setapak is fully owned and managed by Eang Chun Motor Sdn Bhd, a partner of Modenas for the past 23 years.

In 2022, Eang Chun officially became an authorized 4S dealer for Kawasaki.

Eang Chun is one of the top dealers for both Modenas and Kawasaki brands in Malaysia.

The grand opening drew a crowd of 700 people and featured various activities such as test rides, safety riding demonstrations by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), a photobooth, lucky draw, and more.

Modenas also secured a five-star rating from the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) for 11 of its models as part of the Malaysian Motorcycle Assessment Programme (MyMAP).

This recognition secures the position of Modenas as the manufacturer with the greatest number of 5-star ratings with a total of 13 motorcycles.

"This achievement is significant as it underscores our dedication to promoting safer motorcycles through advanced safety technologies such as the antilock braking system, commonly known as ABS. We are committed to raising consumer awareness about safe riding practices for crash prevention, thereby encouraging informed purchasing decisions," stated Roslan.

At the event, the Yellow Ball Edition of the Kawasaki Z900 RS, which is a new 2024 C&G (Colour and Graphics) variant for the completely built-up (CBU) model, was unveiled.

Enhancing its retro appeal is the original Kawasaki Z1 '900' badge on the side covers, paying homage to the Z1 heritage.

The distinctive yellow and black paint job, along with the standard Z900 RS features like anti-lock brakes (ABS), Kawasaki traction control (KTRC), and the 948cc Inline-four engine producing 82kW at 8,500rpm of maximum power and 98.5Nm at 6,500rpm of torque, maintains the model's specifications.

Key components such as suspension, brakes, and wheels remain unchanged from the standard model.
