Kia adds star power to plug EV6 crossover
By CARSIFU | 23 October 2021SEOUL: Kia has roped in tennis legend Rafael Nadal to promote electric car usage through its EV6 crossover.
Earlier this week, Kia handed a customised EV6 GT-Line to the man himself at the Rafa Nadal Academy in his Spanish hometown of Manacor, Mallorca.
As Kia global ambassador, Nadal said he would use the EV6 crossover for his personal mobility in Mallorca as well as at major tennis tournaments such as the 2022 Australian Open.
He also signalled an interest to convert all vehicles used at his academy and the Rafa Nadal Foundation to electric vehicles by 2022.
To show off the EV6 features, the handover ceremony was accompanied by an illuminated tennis court, dubbed the “EV6 Court,” whose lighting system was electrically powered by the EV6 GT-Line.
The V2L (vehicle-to-load) function in Kia's first fully electric crossover vehicle can supply up to 3.6KW of electricity and be used conveniently as a portable power supply for leisure and other everyday activities.
