KUALA LUMPUR: The new Kia Carnival eight-seater variant has been launched to meet increasing demand from larger families and business users who want adaptable interior space without compromising premium cabin comfort.
Locally assembled in Kulim, Kedah, the new Carnival eight-seater is priced at RM238,888 (excluding insurance and road tax), which positions it between the 11-seater (RM188,888) and the seven-seater variant (RM248,888).

KSM managing director Emily Lek said, “With the new eight-seater variant, the Carnival adds a thoughtful new dimension of flexibility and practicality while maintaining comfort across all rows, making it suitable for larger families as well as corporate and fleet applications.”
“This time, we answer the question of “Kenapa Pilih Kia?” with a direct response to customer feedback, incorporating the utility of an SUV (sport utility vehicle) in our outstanding large MPV (multi-purpsoe vehicle),” added Lek.
Every new Carnival is backed by a five-year / 150,000km warranty (whichever comes first).
KSM is also offering new Kia Carnival owners the option to enjoy a 1.98% per annum interest rate for up to nine years of financing or RM6,000 worth of fuel credits in their TNG eWallet.
Evaluating the cost of ownership across Malaysia’s large MPV segment, the Kia Carnival remains among the most cost-efficient in its class.
As the only option offering scheduled service intervals of 10,000km or 12 months, compulsory maintenance for a Kia Carnival could be as low as RM3,600 over five years.
The Kia Carnival eight-seater has a 2-3-3 seating layout presented in soft, plush leatherette.
The second row features a 40:20:40 split with detachable seats and long-sliding functionality.
The middle seat can be individually configured to face forward or backward while the outer seats can be reversed by switching their positions.
The eight-seater offers the same generous legroom and headroom as the seven-seater variant.
The third row adopts a 60:40 split with user-friendly pop-up and sinking seats.
The Carnival eight-seater features ambient lighting spanning the width of the dashboard, complemented by a curved panoramic display that integrates a dual 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
A 12-speaker premium Bose audio system further enriches the in-cabin experience.
Powering the Carnival eight-seater is the 2.2-litre Smartstream four-cylinder turbodiesel engine shared across the Carnival range, producing 202PS at 3,800rpm and 440Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,750rpm.
Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels, the powertrain delivers a combined fuel consumption of 6.5 litres per 100km (WLTP).
The Carnival can achieve over 900km of range with a full tank of fuel (WLTP test cycle); offering the same dependability for long-distance travel as its seven- and 11-seater siblings.
The Carnival eight-seater's suite of safety and driver assistance features include eight airbags with a centre-side airbag.
Matching the seven-seater variant, the Carnival eight-seater features Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Highway Drive Assist 2 (HDA 2), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCTA) and
Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).
