Kia K4 unveiled, successor to Forte

SEOUL: Kia has unveiled the K4, a next-generation compact sedan that replaces the Forte.

Externally, the K4's design breaks traditional boundaries, employing a technique called 'Twist Logic' to create a modern body shape exuding ambition and strength. The front features vertical headlamps and a wide stance, while the rear boasts vertical lamps and a technical bumper.

Inside, the K4 offers an innovative layout that challenges conventional driver-oriented cockpits, with distinct spaces for driver and passenger.

The cabin combines technology with comfort, illuminated by various lighting options and featuring a large central screen and integrated controls.

An array of new seating trims, materials, patterns and colours is offered, including Medium Gray, Slate Green, Canyon Brown, and Onyx Black to highlight the sophisticated feel of the K4’s interior.

Kia did not state what powertrain will go into the K4 but it's unlikely to be electric as the company has standardised the naming of its electric vehicles with model names like EV5, EV6 and EV9.

The global premiere of the K4 is scheduled for the New York International Auto Show on March 27.
