Kia Stinger to end production in April 2023, says report
By CARSIFU | 24 October 2022
SEOUL: A South Korean publication claims that Kia will stop Stinger production in April 2023, citing poor sales as the reason.
As of September, Kia sold only 1,499 units of the grand tourer in South Korea.
The Stinger had long been rumoured to be dropped in recent years.
In its latest midlife facelift, the Stinger is equipped with either a 2.5-litre engine that's good for 300hp or a twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 with 368hp.
An electric replacement is planned as replacement in 2025, according to Auto Times.
But Kia designer Karim Habib had reportedly said last year that the EV6 GT could serve as the successor to the Stinger.
