Lego reveals the latest Land Rover Defender?

PETALING JAYA: Motoring journos may have uncovered what the soon-to-be-launched all-new Land Rover Defender is going to look like thanks to ... Lego?

Lego recently released the Technic 42110 Land Rover Defender set which, as stated on Lego fansite, The Brothers Brick, describes it as 'a 2573-piece Lego Technic replica of the legendary utility vehicle.'

Automotive news site Motor1.com however, thinks this "replica" has more to do with the future model than the past.

The Lego Technic Defender set is a two-door version. The all-new actual Defender will come in two variants: the Defender 90 (two-door variant) and Defender 110, the four-door variant.

The Motor1 site also posted spy-shots of the Defender test  mules so you can see for yourself if their observations are accurate.

The latest images have given the public a look at the rear axle suspension, the steering wheel and the rest of the dashboard.

The Defender 110 and Defender 90 use air suspension and coil springs respectively. It is natural to assume the front axles of both variants would follow the same setup as their respective rear ends.

The all-new Defender is set to be launched in September, 2019.

Interestingly, the Lego Technic Land Rover Defender set comes with a working steering mechanism and a 4-speed sequential gearbox. The chassis carries three differentials and an independent suspension and the final touch, a working winch at the front of the vehicle.

Defender fans might want to check this Lego set out which comes with an asking price of £159.99 (RM846.20).
