PETALING JAYA: The individual authorisation letter issued by the relevant ministries or departments are valid on their own for work-related travel, says Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department’s “SAC operations” Senior Asst Comm MV Srikumar Nair (pic).
"All letters of travel, be it from International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti), the ministries or relevant department, will be accepted on their own," he said in a 30-second video that has been making its rounds online.
In the video, he added the directive came from the Inspector General of Police.
“Please inform those who are conducting roadblocks, ” he added in a 30-second video which is believed to be an issuance to the relevant departments.
The Star on Tuesday reported that businesses faced initial issues in getting the necessary paper work for travel.
The Transport Ministry had made clear that all transport and logistics sub-sectors are allowed to operate at optimum levels for the next fortnight, with strict compliance to Covid-19 standard operating procedures throughout the lockdown.
It added that new approval letters to allow companies registered under the Logistics Industry Information System (SMILE) to operate can now be downloaded at application.mot.gov.my.
All previous letters issued under SMILE are now null and void.
The National Security Council (NSC) has announced a nationwide “total lockdown” for most economic and social activities until June 14 in an effort to curb further outbreaks during the Covid-19 pandemic.
