Lexus LX buyers in Japan have to wait 4 years to get SUV
By CARSIFU | 11 July 2022TOKYO: If you thought waiting six months to nine months is too long for car deliveries, consider the buyers of the new Lexus LX and NX in Japan.
Demand for the LX is so strong that customers have to wait four years to take delivery of the fullsize SUV.
According to Automotive News, Lexus had decided to freeze order-taking in order to clear the backlog.
The compact NX SUV is also in big demand in Japan but the waiting period is not as bad as the LX, with customers told to wait more than 12 months. The company has also suspended order-taking for the smaller SUV.
The problem is compounded by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has led to parts shortages in the supply chain.
