Lexus TZ 3-row SUV unveiled: Up to 530km (WLTP), AWD, 408PS, 95.82kWh battery

TOKYO: Lexus has debuted the TZ, an all-electric three‑row SUV (sport utility vehicle) that promises up to 530km in WLTP mode (with 20-inch tyres).

It has all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 95.82kWh battery, and the front and rear motors each produce 167kW (227PS) and 268.6Nm.

Maximum system output is 300kW (407.8PS) and the 0-100kph sprint is in 5.4 seconds.

When using a 150kW fast charger, it takes 35 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

Lexus says the TZ is designed around the concept of the Driving Lounge ― an elevated mobility space that blends a relaxing cabin environment with a dynamic driving performance.

"By balancing driving enjoyment with lounge‑like comfort in every seat, the TZ provides new experiential value for customers who cherish their time above all else," says Lexus.

The TZ is said to achieve top‑class aerodynamic performance among Lexus SUVs, which contributes to its impressive driving range.

Additionally, "Forged Bamboo", a decorative material made from Shikoku bamboo, adorns many of the interior's surfaces, supporting both sustainable craftsmanship and the preservation of traditional techniques.

Lexus International chief engineer Takeshi Miyaura said, "We envisioned Lexus's target brand value ― customers who value time and choose authenticity ― and aimed to deliver a new Lexus experience through the TZ."

"Interior development targeted lounge-like comfort in every seat; we paid careful attention to each component, including a newly developed platform, seats, and the panoramic roof. We prioritised quietness ― both at rest and in motion ― and succeeded in creating a lounge where acoustics can be enjoyed," he added.
