KUALA LUMPUR: After the new all-new GLC 300 4Matic's launch in April this year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has followed up with a locally assembled version which is RM51,000 cheaper.

Assembled at Mercedes-Benz's production facility in Pekan, Pahang, the luxury sports utility vehicle now comes in a single variant priced at RM378,888 inclusive of 10% sales tax for Peninsular Malaysia.



The muscular-looking GLC 300 features a more expressive AMG Line styling that adds a sporty and exclusive touch to the exterior.

The AMG package consists of an AMG front apron with sporty air intakes and chrome trim element along with a diffuser-look AMG rear apron.

The addition of the Panoramic sliding sunroof provides a bright and pleasant ambience in the interior.



Also equipped are polished aluminium roof rails, aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, flush 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and the radiator grille featuring the distinctive Mercedes-Benz pattern.

At the rear are simulated the underguard in chrome look, the tailpipe trims in chrome, and the two-part rear lights with three-dimensional design which are connected by a glossy black trim element.

Powering the GLC 300 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 258hp and 400Nm of torque which is mated to a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission.



It also gets a mild hybrid system with a second-generation integrated starter-generator (ISG) and electric motor that produces 17kW and 200Nm.

The 0 to 100kph sprint can be completed in 6.2 seconds and the top speed is 240kph.

The GLC 300 also comes with Digital Light that constantly adapts the illumination level to meet lighting conditions, traffic situation, the course of the road and weather.



The AMG Line interior features Artico man-made leather upholstery in black, Microcut microfibre and the AMG sports pedals.

The multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather stands out with its distinctive design, featuring double spokes in the horizontal position and a flattened bottom section, drawing inspiration from motorsport and enhancing the cockpit's dynamic aesthetic appeal.

It also comes with a 12.3-inch (31.2cm) high-resolution instrument panel and an 11.9-inch (30.2cm) central display that rises seamlessly without joints from the centre console, creating a floating appearance above the trim area.



Other features include the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, full-screen navigation supported by MBUX Augmented Reality, Burmester 3D surround sound system with 15 high-performance speakers and Hands-Free Access tailgate system.

Also included are the new Parking package with a 360-degree camera and Active Parking Assist with Parktronic.

This combination ensures optimal visibility from all angles and facilitates the full parking process.



In off-road mode, the GLC's 360-degree camera provides a "transparent bonnet" on the central display for a virtual view beneath the front of the vehicle including the front wheels and their steering position.
