Logistics powerhouse Tasco chooses MAN trucks

SHAH ALAM: As part of its haulage fleet expansion programme, Tasco Bhd has bought for the first time 15 units of Euro V-specification MAN TGS 26.440 6x2 prime movers.

Tasco is a subsidiary of Yusen Logistics Co Ltd of Japan, and one of the largest integrated logistics solutions providers in Malaysia.

The new low-emission trucks from MAN are needed as Tasco has been expanding its warehousing capacity significantly since last year.

By 2026, the company expects to have some five million square feet of warehousing space available.

Tasco group chief executive Andy Lee said that the decision to invest in the MAN TGS was driven by several key factors such as product availability, proven performance, the ability of MAN Truck & Bus Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia) to provide world-class aftersales support and a shared vision towards leveraging digitalisation and technology for efficiency.

“As we renew our fleet with more Euro V specification trucks, we are also meeting ESG commitments required by our many multinational customers,” he said.

MAN Malaysia managing director Marc Appelt thanked Tasco for choosing to join the growing MAN family in Malaysia.

“At MAN, we deliver value by ‘Simplifying Business’ for our customers so that they can focus on their core business. It is a great privilege to partner with key players in the logistics industry such as Tasco."

"For Tasco’s haulage needs, our MAN TGS, which has a four-year head-start in the Euro V segment in Malaysia, is not just technologically advanced. It is a proven, dependable, cost-efficient and sustainable solution. It is highly-regarded by operators for its reliability, performance and lower total cost of ownership (TCO), and drivers for its unrivalled power, safety and comfort,” he said.
