SHANGHAI: Lotus has introduced Europe’s first and only hybrid technology capable of delivering 952PS, paired with a combined driving range exceeding 1,200km (WLTP) and up to 350km of pure electric range.
This breakthrough platform — called X Hybrid — will make its European debut in the upcoming Lotus Eletre X.
The official European launch will be in June 2026, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The X Hybrid system recently made its global debut in China, in the local‑market SUV (sport utility vehicle) known as Lotus For Me.
The Lotus X Hybrid platform can seamlessly switch among pure EV (electric vehicle), series hybrid, and parallel hybrid operation.

Lotus Tech CEO Qingfeng Feng said, “With For Me, we are proving that advanced technology must serve the drivers, not replace them — delivering constant performance, total control, and real safety in every condition, so that consumers can enjoy the emotion of driving and the confidence of protecting what matters most."
He added, “Quoting the famous Pirelli campaign: ‘Power is nothing without control”. That is why our electric first hybrid pairs supercar figures — up to 952PS and 0–100kph in 3.3 seconds — with a 900V architecture, nine minutes 20–80% fast charging and a 150kW generator, enabling 400km (WLTC) of pure electric freedom and over 1,400km (WLTC) combined range.”
The strong 150kW generator can produce up to 25kWh per hour in suitable conditions.
It can replenish the battery on the move, sustain charge during cruising and support sudden power demands.

The reference platform features front and rear PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motors) for a combined system output up to 700kW/952PS and 935Nm, enabling 0–100kph in 3.3 seconds.
Even at around 20% battery SOC (state of charge), the system can deliver up to 550kW — supporting demanding scenarios such as mountain‑pass overtakes.
The platform offers four levels of regenerative braking to recoup energy in everyday driving.
The system is underpinned by a 70kWh battery and a 52-litre fuel tank.

Technology showcased in For Me demonstrates the platform’s ability to deliver unmistakable Lotus handling:
- 48V active anti‑roll bar delivering up to 1,400Nm with 10 millisecond response and a target roll angle of less than 1.5 degrees per g-force.
- Active rear spoiler with four positions, generating up to 120kg of downforce depending on mode (Aero, Downforce, Braking).
- Brembo six‑piston front brakes, 33.9 metre 100–0kph stopping and rapid thermal recovery.
- Dual‑chamber air suspension with dual‑valve dampers reacting in as little as two millisecond, balancing comfort with sharp dynamic control; front double wishbone layout.
- Lotus‑developed tyres tuned for wet adhesion and high‑speed stability to harness the platform’s up to 952PS potential.
There will also be an optional full Nappa leather interior (nine hides) and a 2,160W, 23-speaker audio system.
