KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia, has given an assurance that the recall of some BYD electric vehicle (EV) models in China is only limited to vehicles sold in that country.
"BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. and BYD Automobile Co., Ltd. are recalling certain domestically produced Dolphin and Yuan PLUS electric vehicles.”
The statement said the batches and models recalled within the China mainland region did not pertain to markets outside of the China mainland region.
It was reported that BYD in China had issued a recall for the Dolphin and Yuan Plus (sold as Atto 3 overseas) EVs manufactured in China between November 2022 and December 2023.
