PETALING JAYA: Motorists can now renew their driving licence and road tax via the MyJPJ application from Feb 1, says Anthony Loke (pic).
On driving licences, the Transport Minister said today that the feature is only open to Malaysians, adding that a RM5 rebate will be given to those renewing their driving licences digitally.
He announced this while on a working visit to the Selangor Road Transport Department in Shah Alam.
Only those renewing their licences digitally between Feb 1, 2024 and Dec 31, 2024 will be eligible for the rebate, he said, adding that this is to encourage more Malaysian motorists to use the e-services to renew their licences.
"This initiative is only for Malaysians only and is not extended to to foreign nationals or any pass, long-term permit, MyKAS Card, MyPR Card holders." said Loke.
Loke also said that the online renewal of licences would be carried out in stages with the first phase being for privately-owned vehicles belonging to Malaysians.
